Cardiological Testing
Monitoring heart health and detecting cardiac abnormalities. HMC Burnaby performs both standard ECGs and Exercise ECGs. The ECG or EKG is a “heart trace” and most people have had one either in a doctor’s office or at the emergency department. It involves attaching electrodes to a patient’s chest which read the electrical activity of the heart. An Exercise ECG monitors the electrical activity of the heart while exercising on our treadmill. It can indicate if any arteries might be blocked in the heart.
